Since I wrote this article, I’ve heard from other hypnotherapists who’ve ‘won’ the “Best Local Hypnotherapist” award, in Seattle!

How do you like that? Maybe there is more than one “best” hypnotherapist in Seattle.

Keith, I agree wholeheartedly, we can empathaise therby entering the clients world and build rapport but to go further is effectively allowing them to hypnotise us to the extent we are in the same boat as them. I think Steven Heller Phd said it better, “If the therapist accepts those statements (the clients) as being true in fact, then I believe that the therapist has experienced hypnotised by the client.

Hi Keith, your article is right about different types of frauds, but there is no such thing in Pakistan. Though, here some hypnotherapists use their fake PhD degrees in hypnosis or nlp and then dominate their skills falsely. This is the pattern of some of Pakistani hypnotherapists.

positive thinking is fine as long as you have scoped and understood the shadow side of the things you are being positive about (i.e “ok so i believe this will work out fine, but what’s my plan B if it doesn’t).

I’ve always referred to both as Anchoring myself. They both activate a feeling or behavior by using some sort of signal or stimulus. I see no difference other than how you go about creating them. Plus, Anchoring is faster to say.

I never put it together just that way, but of course. It’s like adding two and two and legitimately getting six. I mean, what ISN’T an anchor? And a suggestion offered in one trance is meant to be carried over into another (sometimes called consciousness).

I wish to say that I find this technique veeeery interesting….
